FRC Course Builder ../templates

The FRC has been working to make and to procure cross-platform web course development ../templates in order to expedite the production process for faculty who are interested in producing instructional materials for web hybrid or online courses. These ../templates come in a variety of formats and offer varying degrees of interactivity.

In order to use the first set of ../templates, fill in the form(s) and press the submit button at the bottom of each form. This action "posts" your course information to the FRC's production web server and provides the FRC staff and faculty member with the opportunity to fine tune the web materials prior to making them public. Materials produced for use on the FRC server are typically moved to the main college web server after ONE semester.

Note that there are currently three different auto posting ../templates available (see thumbnail versions below). Information on these ../templates may be added to, edited, or deleted by accessing the FRC Web Course Builder. Because these are fixed ../templates, the visual look and arrangement of information on them cannot be altered. For more information, read on. Click on one of the three ../templates below to view the proposed FORM ../templates.

The second set of course ../templates (shown below) may be downloaded from San Diego State University. The FRC recently obtained permission to use these ../templates. The ../templates may NOT be sold, nor used at other educational institutions without similar permission.

These cross-platform ../templates are designed to be edited using a (Windows or Mac) web page construction application, e.g., PageMill, Claris Homepage, FrontPage, etc. PageMill is available for use in the FRC or can be purchased for a nominal fee (appx. $100) from a variety of software companies. The directions for using these packages are built into the ../templates.

The ../templates are available in frame and non-frame (Table) versions. In order to download the ../templates, you need to have Stuffit software (Mac) or PKZip (PC). If you don't have these software utilities, contact the FRC and we can provide you with the ../templates on a floppy disk.
